Saliva or discharge with blood may indicate trauma, gum inflammation, periodontal disease or other painful conditions. A normal appetite doesn't rule out a problem.

When it's urgent

  • Persistent bloody discharge

  • Don't use human mouth rinses or gels
  • Don't give human painkillers

  • Radiography
